A Truly Unique & Authentic Getaway in a Charming Spanish Mountain Village
Welcome to Casitas la Cueva! We offer two beautiful holiday homes nestled in a peaceful, traditional Spanish village – a perfect base for those who love nature, yet want to be close to the coast and cities like Granada and Malaga (both just an hour's drive away).
Our homes are La Estrella (2-bedroom) and El Sol (1 bedroom). Both houses share a gorgeous courtyard garden, a one-of-a-kind cave pool, and an amazing roof terrace.
"El Sol" blends Bohemian and Moorish styles, with lots of local materials and earthy tones. You’ll be enchanted by the hand-painted tiles on the stairs, kitchen, and bathroom, the bamboo ceiling with wooden beams, locally handmade wall lights and rugs, and stunning stone wall accents. Such thoughtful design and authenticity are hard to find in a holiday home!
The courtyard garden is a lush greenery with tropical plants, giving you a quiet oasis to enjoy. From this cozy patio with its handmade seating area, you can enter both homes. A few steps lead up to the swimming pool, which is located inside a cave (once home to pigs, rabbits, and chickens – how cool is that?).
The pool is open from April till October and comes with a built-in bench with air jets (think mini jacuzzi!), making it the perfect spot for a refreshing swim. Right next to the pool, there’s a bathroom with a toilet and shower, plus a washing machine, iron, and ironing board for your convenience.
For panoramic views, take the spiral staircase up to the large (100m²) roof terrace. It’s south-facing, so you can soak in the stunning views of the Los Guajares mountain range, which separates us from the coast. It’s the perfect spot for a drink while watching the sunset.
"El Sol" has one bedroom with an ensuite bathroom on the upper floor. In 2025, the beds were replaced with new King Size (180cm x 200cm) box spring beds. These can be separated if desired for single use. On the same floor you will find a comfortable living space with a sofa (that doubles as a 140cm wide bed) and a Moorish-style seating area.
The fully equipped kitchen on the groundfloor has everything you need: fridge-freezer, oven, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, plates, cutlery, and more. The kitchen opens up to a nice dining area
On cooler evenings, the wood-burning stove and the portable gas heater create a warm and cozy atmosphere. Firewood and gas cylinders are available at cost price. And of course, there’s a Smart-TV and free Wi-Fi throughout the property so you can stay connected (if you want to!).
For your convenience, a washing machine is located in the shared second bathroom, next to the cave pool.
Guajár-Faragüit is part of the "Los Guajares" region, where you can experience authentic Andalusian mountain village life. It’s an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts who love hiking scenic mountain trails, exploring waterfalls, challenging bike rides, rock climbing, and more.
And, the beautiful beaches of Costa Tropical are just 30 minutes away, offering the perfect balance of mountain serenity and beachside fun.
Additionally, Granada and Malaga are about an hour's drive away, and both cities are must-see destinations during your stay!
