Situated in the still agriculturally influenced southern part of the island near the little town of Campos, a two-storey quarry-stone house receives us which offers a wonderfully authentic holiday destination for up to 4 people on a generous living space of 300 m² with a very beautiful outdoor area. These are lovingly preserved and processed, very old memorabilia, connected with one another and enhanced by modern aspects. Upon entering the wonderful old farmer's kitchen, we find modern comforts you would not want to do without. In the fully-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, large oven, coffee machine, and much more), we find old, hand-turned chairs with farm drawings, old copper pans on the walls, hand-painted tiles behind the oven, a cabinet incorporated into the wall, a rocking chair, lighting in the appearance of a gas lamp, and much more. Just 2 steps will take you to a seating area with LCD TV, past an antique screen, and into the living room area with a great ceiling height. The comfortable seating corner in front of the large fireplace - an absolutely beautiful corner for lounging on cooler evenings. On the left, a staircase leads to the open gallery, which accommodates a comprehensive library and lends a very lovely, nearly manorial feeling. The spacious house presents further beautiful corners for lounging. The vaulted wine cellar with old barrels, a long table, and a chilled area for relaxing is of course particularly unusual. The nostalgic villa "Can Cuquet" thereby again bears witness to the old, agriculturally influenced tradition of this region around Campos, Llucmajor, and Felanitx.
The bedrooms on the upper storey - one of them with its own bathroom - are wonderfully cosy and offer plenty of storage space for the holiday wardrobe. Here we also find carefully selected, hand-made wooden furniture and extraordinarily delicately processed bed frames. The two bathroomson the top floor have turned out particularly well. They are distinctive due to their high-quality fittings and accessories with a nostalgic look. The original Arabic tiles from the 16th century were enhanced by new, hand-painted tiles. Details like the little washbasin in the bathroom were carefully preserved. These are extraordinary tile designs that you hardly find anymore today: the typical blue and white pattern of the ceramic tiles. The floral border edges in the bathroom with the freestanding bathtub are wonderfully discreet but still a real eye-catcher. We particularly like the washbasin in the gold- and green shower-bathroom, which is shaped like a stone jug. You can see the close attention to detail, and there is so much more to discover than we could mention at this point.
In addition to the enchanting interior design, the outdoor area is also very beautifully arranged. A footpath leads to the two-storey, romantic villa between Mediterranean garden patches. Numerous wonderful seating places are available around the villa for relaxing and unwinding. The pool area, decorated with old agricultural relics, offers sun loungers and a parasol. The pool area consists of a swimming pool and a whirlpool, subdivided but still connected. Particular highlights are the covered seating areas by the villa. A small, round table with a porch swing offers a quiet spot. But what is particularly extraordinary is the large summer kitchen, which is also under cover. It accommodates a large, round dining table under old wooden beams, a complete outdoor kitchen with a fireplace-barbecue and even an oven. So even if you have chosen to self-cater, you can still spend the day outdoors- in any kind of weather. Due to the heating and fireplace, the villa "Can Cuquet" is a wonderful winter holiday home. The large living space is great for spending a tranquil Christmas together with the family. Upon entering the villa, you will see that this is not a typical holiday villa. You will feel as though you are visiting friends.
Rolling hills and an abundance of greenery characterise the landscape of the south. The beautiful natural beaches like Es Trenc or Can Curt are easy to reach by rental car. If you go shopping in nearby towns, you can always take a small detour to the beach, as there are just so many, such as Es Freu de Ses Covetes.
