Our villa "Moonside" is located in the heart of Port de Sóller's Orange Valley, also known as the Valley of Gold. The absolutely idyllic location offers us a lot of peace and serenity with a picturesque view of the surrounding landscape. Since the 1990s, the Sóller Tunnel (free of charge from 2018) has provided a more comfortable journey to Palma and many other places on the sunny island of Mallorca without having to cross the meandering mountain pass. The authentic narrow-gauge wooden train takes you from Sóller to the center of Palma, to the "Plaza de España". The 28-kilometer scenic drive through 13 tunnels and breathtaking scenery is now one of the most popular excursions on the island. Sóller itself offers not only numerous bars and cafés on the main square "Plaza Constitución" but also a cute tram that connects the city with the port. Other sights would be the "Musuem Ca'n Prunera in Sóller" with a permanent exhibition worth seeing by artists such as Kandinksy, Picasso, Warhol, as well as the local artists Miquel Barceló and Francesca Martí. Saturday is market day in Sóller. A wild tumult of buyers and traders bring life to the otherwise rather quiet port town. A little tip: You can try the delicious liqueur "Angel d'Or" among many other local products and take it home as a souvenir. Our holiday home is the ideal starting point for hikers. The long-distance hiking trail GR 221 takes us through the Serra de Tramuntana, the route of dry stone walls that crosses the port and the city. In just a few minutes you are on the beach of Soller...
