As you approach the villa "Els Mitjans", the first thing you'll see even from a distance are a handful of tall palm trees. When you get to the grounds, you go around the side of the building and end up in the well-tended garden. And that's when it kicks in – that glorious feeling of being on holiday! Crossing a large lawn area, you reach the pool, built in an elegant, rounded shape. Surrounded on all sides by a broad sun terrace with well-placed lounge chairs, it's waiting on swimmers to hop in and do some laps, or children to have some fun splashing about in the water. From here, you have a breathtaking view of the sweeping, gently rolling landscape that makes up the island's east, and you can just let yourself be taken in by this absolutely peaceful country atmosphere. Stepping onto the broad, paved footpath cutting across the lawn and connecting the pool area and the house, you're only a few steps away from the expansive terrace that stretches along two sides of the structure. Not only is there enough room out here for two sofa sets and two dining tables, but also toys for the kids, a trampoline, and a ping pong table. This area is bound to become a focal point of your holiday stay here, a place where you can spend many hours relaxing and having a good time outdoors. If you feel like moving about some, there's another lawn area that's perfect for sport. The little outdoor kitchen has a roof of its own, and you can come out here to use the BBQ and grill up some of the fresh foods you find at the local shops, then sit down and enjoy them. If you're looking for some shade, you can find enough room out under the umbrellas and on the terrace, part of which is covered by a glass roof with retractable sun shades.
Inside, the living room has direct access to the garden, and is appointed with tasteful furniture pieces. This is also where the fireplace is, where you can spend hours relaxing in its warm glow, especially during the cooler months. The typically Mallorcan wood ceiling beams and the rustic tile floors provide a nice backdrop for the more colourful furniture and décor, to great aesthetic effect. The kitchen facilities leave nothing to be desired.
When you're done cooking in here, just walk over to the dining table a few feet away and savour the meal you've created. Past the kitchen is a utility room, where you'll also find the washing machine. One of the bedrooms and its en-suite bathroom is located on the lower floor, while the other two are upstairs. Both of these rooms have access to the roof deck, which looks out on the garden. Enjoy the gorgeous view over the Mallorcan landscape at any time of day!
The bedrooms are beautifully, practically, and of course comfortably furnished – everything you need for a good night's sleep. All of the bathrooms have modern fixtures and lots of mirrors, making it a pleasure to use them. So there should be nothing standing in the way of a thoroughly relaxing holiday.
Some beautiful beaches in the island's east are just a few minutes away. We always recommend a visit to the cove of Cala Torta, which has a bistro on the beach that serves fresh fish. The fine little town of Artà has a well-known farmer's market on Tuesdays, but that's not the only thing it has going for it. The town's pedestrian zone, which follows a gentle uphill slope towards the fortress, has lots of nice shops offering a wide variety of wares. If you're looking for something a bit more lively whilst you're on holiday, Cala Ratjada is just a short drive away. This town has much to offer, with a lovely harbour and lots of shops, bistros, and nightclubs. All bedroom and bathroom linen is included. Bath towels are also provided.
